"Swim" is the comeback single by South Korean group BTS and the lead single from their album Arirang, released on March 20, 2026. It was the group's first release after a four-year hiatus during which the members completed their military service. The album title references the traditional Korean folk song "Arirang".
Musically, "Swim" is an alternative pop and synth-pop song with lyrics entirely in English. RM, the song's main writer, said he wanted to express the confusion the members felt before and after their military service, and that the message is simply to "keep swimming". A remix album called Keep Swimming, with seven remixes that reflect the musical taste of each member, followed on March 27.
Chart success
"Swim" spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Global 200 in April 2026 and became one of the most streamed songs released this year on Spotify.
The music video
The official MV premiered on HYBE LABELS together with the album. It was directed by Tanu Muiño and stars actress Lili Reinhart. BTS also released an official performance video and several live clips of the song.
